Recently I saw this quote by author, Gail Sheehy: "Growth demands a temporary surrender of security."
I know this to be true for me, in all of my experiences........and for the most part, I'm okay with that.
I also know that I am NOT the norm. For most people, leaving the security of what's known - of what may have become their comfort zone (regardless of how UNcomfortable or miserable that may be) - seems pretty daunting. It may even seem to some like teetering on a tightrope - without a net. And that's FAR from comfortable for many. Depending on one's self-confidence and past experiences, it can seem downright dangerous! And yet..........that's what's often required of us if we are to grow and expand - to follow our soul's impulse to evolve.
So how does one take what feels like a giant leap? How does one tiptoe out onto that tightrope? How can one maintain a sense of balance during all of the shifting, morphing, changing - and the sense of turmoil that sometimes accompanies that big step?
It may mean asking for support from family, friends, significant other, etc.
It may mean asking for divine guidance.
It may mean acknowledging the fear, and surfing that fear as though you're surfing an ocean wave.
Or it may mean all of the above. It certainly means leaving your comfort zone! But as they say..........."life begins at the end of your comfort zone." And it's likely you'll find empowerment and strength you never knew you had once you take the step into the "insecurity" that comes with change.
I'd love to help you on that path. Contact me so that we can devise a plan.
